Better Late Than Never?

Well...the good intentions we had for posting something weekly didn't seem to hold true last week. We have been very busy in the shop getting ready for the state shop hop which seems to be coming up all too quickly!!

This year, the Southwest section will be giving away $1,000 cash to a lucky person
who visits all 12 shops. Besides receiving a 5" square in each shop we are also handing out
a free "charm" pack pattern in each of our 12 SW shops. Below is a taste of what our
free pattern is going to be...

I sort of feel like the Christmas Queen in the shop as I've been busy working on various projects using some of the new Christmas fabrics. I've done my first projects using a jelly roll of the "Kansas Winter" fabric from Moda's Kansas Troubles. This really doesn't appear to be your normal Christmas fabric as it doesn't have any Santa or snowmen on it. The general label of "winter" fits the fabric better!! The largest and main project is on it's final quilting stages today. It's a lap quilt that's approximately 81" x 64" and is called A Chance of Flurries. The pattern was designed specifically for this fabric and jelly rolls.

With the remaining strips I had, I grabbed another KT pattern called Jolly Jelly Holly Days and was able to create the stocking and pillow, and still have strips to make more!!! Both these projects went together super quick and were very easy to do. This is probably the largest quilted Christmas stocking pattern I've ever seen...

Darci has also been busy working on a new trio for her newest pattern which uses a cheater piece as the center of the project, and strips. Look for her pattern to make its grand entry on or before the state shop hop!

On a completely different note, non-quilting related, I just love flowers and have been thrilled to watch my red Lilly plants take off by the garage. However, the little puppy has also taken quite a liking to them and thinks they either taste great or look awful and wants to get rid of them.

So, before she ruins my plants, here they are...
