This isn't something she'd probably create for the shop but is very interesting and quite creative. One of the fun things about the quilt show is always to see the wonderful works of art that people create. Amazing how many different ways there are to use fabric, huh?
On Monday night we held our annual market party and invited everyone to come and get the "scoop" on market. We served ice cream cones, handed out a simple newsletter and sold some of our market goodies. The night was so much fun and we not only thank all of you for coming in but also for the enjoyable evening.
A few posts ago you seen Moxie, by Andover's Kim Schaefer. We now have the project entirely finished with the flowers appliqued down, the top quilted and bound, and even washed to get that fun crinkled and used feel. This is a super easy quilt to piece together and goes together rather quick.
This is just plain fun. We picked up kits at sample spree for this cute little hanging out of Sandy Gervais "Lollipop" fabric line (due this fall). Her pattern is called Oopsie Daisy and features dimensional daisies. We do have kits available of this yet in the shop. Once they are gone-they are gone until the fall. Kits are $39.99 and EVERYTHING is in there!!
I apologize for the non-close up of this. I guess the computer went on editing strike today. The quilt top features the new 3 sisters fabric due in August called Luna Notte and the Comfort of Psalms panel. Makes a wonderful wall hanging and even gift!
These fun little bundles are called Cinnamon Sticks. Each stick makes 27 "friendship triangles" and was also a market find and shop sewing day idea. You may purchase our cinnamon stick, sew the triangles using the paper provided (see below) and we'll keep track of your triangles brought in. In October we'll have a sewing day in which you will collect the number of triangles you brought in from our friendship pot, and work on a special project.
Kathy Schmitz has also designed a cute and small little monthly embroidery "wreath". The snowman is one of the months. We will have an open day in the shop in which you can come in and sit, enjoy some coffee, friendship and embroider, or work on whatever your heart desires. More info can be found on our website in the near future.

Speaking of Holly Taylor fabrics, Phyllis sewed the sample above using Holly Taylor Classics. It was "sew" much fun to see this when we got home from Market!! Thanks to Phyllis' sewing afternoons with us and the Busy Binder quickly binding in between trips to the lake we have gotten samples done in record time once the new fabrics have come into the shop!
This past Wednesday evening (and afternoon) we were graced by our Woolie Wednesday wool group. They came in and worked on Darci's newest Cherry Tarts pattern!!
And also been doing some more wool felt projects.
Come and see the newest samples, patterns, products, gizmo's, & gadgets.
