I have sat here in my chair watching the spacer blink while it waits for me to type something.  Do you ever have that trouble??  Now that a valuable half-hour has passed I decided to be honest and tell you all that...not that you needed to know it! I am speechless, and that doesn't happen often.  But we do have a few new things to show and tell about and even a few that are works in progress.  So beings the words aren't flowing here I'll see if my thread and needle flow a bit better on the quilting front. . .

Simply Imagine

"Simply imagine your life as a journey, an adventure to live, to crate and to be inspired. . . seek wisdom, daydream, live in Peace and without fear."

We were drawn to this lovely little saying found on the new Whimsical fabric panel and fell in love with the pretty hues of blue, purple, red, green & brown.  This is a quick little wall hanging we did up using the panel and a few coordinating pieces of fabric and added the touch of cream rick-rack to the inner border for a little pop of fun.

With the "Simply Imagine" panel comes the fun little emblems shown in the project above (peace & create logos) as well as a few others not used.  We decided to pair them up with a chalkboard fabric panel and create a fun little wall quilt project.

Isn't it amazing all of the "chalkboard art" things we can find today?  I was just on pinterest the other day and saw an old refrigerator spray painted in chalkboard paint so kids could doodle on it.  At our favorite occasional shop "The Rusty Truck" we saw old cans painted with a small sector of it to doodle on. . .and now it's invaded the quilting world.  It really is quite fun and we have enjoyed adding some fun random specials to our new board.  Make sure you check it the next time you are in to see what we've got cookin'!

We want to say "Thank You" to all of you who came out to see us at our Holidazzle Gathering last weekend.  For those of you unable to attend, below is the full-scale picture of our sneak peeks from the last post. . .however I'll save you from reading through the same descriptions which can be found on our Nov. 6 post!

Rail Splits

This one is a great fat quarter quilt project and is a nice lap size quilt.  We chose to use Merry Medley by Sandy Gervais and find it to be a great overall holiday quilt.  It really takes almost longer to cut and lay out your "A" & "B" block then sew the top together!
3 Hour Gift Bag

Nook or Kindle Cover
found in the 2012 Quilts & More Winter Magazine

The pattern will create either Nook/Kindle cover or an I-Pad cover. If you play your cards right you'll actually get two of the nook/kindle covers from one cut of the required fabrics!!

Now...onto what new fun we've had here in the shop this week!

Double Chocolate Cheater

This little quilt is the cheater from the Double Chocolate fabric by Moda's 3 sisters.  We simple chose a backing and feather stitched over the printed lines. We also chose to use cotton quilt batting so after it was washed it had a sweet crumpled and aged effect which we love!!

Using the remaining coordinates from the Double Chocolate fabric collection we created a new table runner.  It was a fairly quick runner to put together and is a bit wider than most runner sizes we see in the shop.  We also think it would look great as a bed-runner!  We had a lot of fun using the stripe fabric in our setting triangles to give it a different flavor than the typical solid set-ins. . .
Ginger & Spice
By: Pastthyme Patterns

These little guys were the new debut at wool group this past Wednesday afternoon and evening.  Gingerbread men (or women) have been a popular item this year and after many requests can now be found here in wool form.  We also had fun adding some fun embroidery above and below the heart.

Santa & Co.
By: Sew Unique Creations

It's been a while since we've had (a) a scallop penny rug done here in the shop and (b) had a penny rug with Mr. Santa!!  This little guys is so dang cute and was pretty quick to stitch together!!  With Santa season coming soon this man has been popular here!
Patterns for him are $9.00 and kits are $37.99.

And of course we have some sneak peeks of our works in progress!!

Little Tree
By: Waltzing With Bears

Our busy binder traded in her binding needles for embroidery ones and stitched up this adorable little guy that once finished will be perfect for the holidays. . .
We have also been working on a cute adorable baby quilt!!  Both of us gals are absolutely in LOVE with this quilt and are thinking it must have something to do with it's muted colors.  If you are looking for a baby (or kid quilt--it really can grow with a little one) you may want to check back next week to see this!  It has sooo many possibilities...

We also want to remind you that we are collecting pillowcases and new pairs of mittens to be donated to family services in Chippewa & Kandiyohi counties just in time for Christmas.  Items may be handmade or purchased.  For every item you bring in you'll have your name entered into our basket for a $50.00 shop gift certificate.  If you purchase your supplies here in the shop you'll also receive an extra ticket in the drawing.  Items can be brought in any time now until December 14th.

Until next time. . .
